Mamá by Kate Lawrence Interiors is the epitome of a serene oasis. In 2021, Kate decided to collaborate closely with the matriarch of her family to transform her childhood home with a minimal, spacious, and natural light-drenched redo. Kate’s design focus was to capture the memories of their family home – symbolic of connection, tradition, and an escape from the outside world – with a reinvigorated look and feel. 

One step into this charming, open-plan space and you’ll find yourself in awe of the subtle simplicity yet meticulous attention to detail that makes this home feel at once elegant yet understated. Every detail hints at timelessness, from the high ceilings and natural sunlight, to the textures of oak within the kitchen cabinetry and muted concrete of the countertops, through to the stone feature tiles and aged brass finishes that flow through the home’s interiors. 

To create a sense of cohesiveness and character throughout the space, Kate has selected Australian-made tapware brand Faucet Strommen’s stunning Pegasi range for Mamá. The home’s earthy, muted palette is finished with antique brass detailing to complement the ageless appeal of this intimate space. The final touches which truly bring the home into the realm of warm tranquillity are the beautifully styled soft furnishings – think dreamy cream linen sofas, natural jute rugs, and neutral-toned ceramics. 

Kate Lawrence’s Mamá is an ode to the feeling of coming home to your loved ones. Every little detail comes together seamlessly, which further signals Kate's underlying thoughtfulness of what makes a childhood house a family home. The Mamá project is symbolic of the nature of motherhood – a comforting, nurturing safe haven with the gracefulness that only a mother could exude.
