YSG has imagined a home like none other in the form of the Budge Over Dover project in Sydney’s coastal Dover Heights.
With expertise in creating artisanal, whimsical spaces, YSG has imagined a home like none other in the form of the Budge Over Dover project in Sydney’s coastal Dover Heights. Drawing on YSG’s signature celebration of eclecticism and functionality, the home owners wanted a space that was light-filled, airy and spacious.
The devil is in the details here, with the craftsmanship through the house evident with the use of an array of diverse, natural materials. Impressively, Budge Over Dover displays ten different types of stone – from sandstone and marble, to natural-stone and veiny Black Panther marble.
These luxe surfaces sit alongside graceful sage and toffee Marmorino plaster walls, a blushing aubergine-hued ceiling, grainy-textured finishings on the fireplace, and tasteful caramel borders on the walls of the nursery.
In some rooms, pistachio- and olive-tainted walls house black-stained timber cabinetry, while other spaces imbue a lighter, more minimalistic flair with the use of peach and cream-hued interior furnishings.
The subtle curves of the arched doorway, cabinet handles, and built-in bench seat, as well as the cushioned texture of the sofa and bench seats throughout the kitchen and living areas soften the harder features of the kitchen, including the island bench’s polished marble and aged brass finish.
The sense of lightness continues through the bathrooms too, with floating joinery and luscious Nood Co basins in classic ivory. This balanced interplay of polished and raw finishes give the entire place a rich, distinct look and feel. YSG made sure to honour the client’s brief of creating a sense of seamlessness with the interior and exterior of the home, and this gives Budge Over Dover a sculptural, elegant aura.
