The 'Take Two' Duplex is a stunning residential project designed by EMK Architects and Kate Lawrence Interiors. Located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, the luxury duplex boasts a modern, sleek design that incorporates natural materials and Australian made products.

Each home features a spacious open plan living area, anchored by a stunning fireplace which is complimented by the Tumbled Limestone main floor tiles sourced from Amalfi Tiles (AMALFI1456). The natural stone tiles with their earthy texture and warm tones provide a perfect base to this modern organic design.

Kate Lawrence expertly curated the interior design of the Take Two Duplex, including the styling of the main living area. To achieve a modern, luxurious look, she selected the Ur Place Rola Sofa and Boston Chair. The Rola sofa, with its natural colour and oversized design, provides both comfort and style, making it the perfect designer statement piece. The Boston chair complements the sofa with its bold curves and tweed-like fabric, adding a touch of sophistication to the living area. To add an extra layer of coziness, an additional cushion was included, ensuring that the space stays stylish and chic while also being comfortable.

The open plan kitchen in the Take Two Duplex is a perfect example of how natural elements like light timber joinery and concrete benchtops can be used to create a modern yet inviting space. The White Finger mosaic (AMALFI1126) splashback in the kitchen adds a touch of texture and visual interest to the minimalist design. Its subtle and intricate pattern complements the white cabinetry and concrete benchtop, creating a cohesive and stylish look in the space.

The kitchen mixer and matching cabinet hardware in the Take Two Duplex are standout features that add both style and functionality to the space. The Antique Brass Light finish of the Pegasi kitchen mixer by Faucet Strommen creates a timeless and minimalistic look, while the 2-stage flow step valve and recessed aerator provide efficient performance. The matching Antique Brass Light cabinet hardware is a perfect complement to the mixer, bringing warmth and elegance to the light timber cabinetry.

The duplex also features a stunning outdoor area with a pool, which can be viewed from the living area of each home. The pool is surrounded by natural stone tiles and is the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun. Large windows and skylights fill the space with natural light, creating a sense of openness and connection to the outdoors.

The bathrooms in the Take Two Duplex are a standout feature of the project. They are designed with stone look porcelain tiles, timber look vanities, and concrete features throughout that are a continued theme from the kitchen. The same Limestone floor tile that is featured in the main area is carried through to the bathrooms of the duplex.

An element that features prominently throughout the home is concrete. From the Nood Co x Studio xOx Exclusive 360mm basin and Rectangle Prism basin in the bathrooms to the concrete benchtops in the kitchen and main bathroom, concrete is a unifying element that gives the home a cohesive, contemporary feel. Kate's careful selection of materials ensures that the space is both durable and stylish.

One of Kate's top priorities when designing this project was to support Australian products where possible. As such, she utilised Australian made tapware and basins from Studio xOx wherever she could. Kate is passionate about the use of local products, stating,

"This is how we should be evolving. If I see something that's Australian made, I am instantly drawn to it. I want to use that product because I feel really proud putting it in a space."

Kate Lawrence-Parker, Director of Kate Lawrence Interiors

Overall, the Take Two Duplex is a stunning example of contemporary Australian design that seamlessly blends natural materials, local products, and modern features. Kate Lawrence's passion for using Australian made products and incorporating concrete throughout the home creates a space that is not only beautiful but also sustainable and practical. The attention to detail and high-end finishes make this duplex a must-see for anyone interested in luxury residential design.
